Biography

Dr. Aditya Parihar is an Assistant Professor in the Geotechnical section of the Department of Civil Engineering, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala. Dr. Aditya was appointed in July 2015 after completing his doctorate from Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. Formerly an Associate Consultant in ATES, AIMIL Ltd., New Delhi, he has field experience in various site investigation projects. Dr. Aditya completed his Masters from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee in 2007 on “Seismic Response of Retaining walls”. He has experience in numerical modeling problems related to geotechnical engineering and has ample experience in geophysical field investigations like MASW. He regularly undertakes experiential learning activities related to slope stabilization, specifically designed for undergraduate students.

Research Interests

 

  • Physical modelling of Geotechnical problems related to Retaining wall, slope stability, and isolated footing,
  • Searching and validating alternate materials for geotechnical applications,
  • Studying the behavior of soil under dynamic conditions.
