BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Shashank Chandra has been serving as an Assistant Professor-I in the Department of Civil Engineering at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, since July 2026, after completing his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. His research interests include the fire performance of structures, durability of concrete structures, and the repair and retrofitting of deteriorated infrastructure. During his post-doctoral tenure as a Research Associate at IIT Roorkee, he was actively involved in several field consultancy projects focusing on the condition assessment, structural health evaluation, and rehabilitation of aged and distressed civil infrastructure. Dr. Chandra has published several research and case-study papers in reputed SCI/SCIE/Scopus-indexed journals in the field of Civil Engineering and has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences.
