BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Dinesh Samal earned his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. His doctoral research focused on the interfacial transition zone (ITZ) and its influence on the mechanical and fracture properties of concrete. Combining analytical modeling, experimental fracture studies, and machine learning approaches, his work provided new insights into ITZ characterization, crack propagation, and damage classification in concretes of varying strengths, including ultra-high-performance concrete.
His research contributes to advancing the understanding of fracture mechanics, durability, and structural health monitoring of concrete, with applications in the design of sustainable and high-performance cementitious materials.
